Grief Care

"A friend who can be silent with me in a moment of despair or confusion,
who can face with me the reality of my powerlessness and touch my woundswith a gentle and tender hand"

Henri J.M.Nouwen

We provide grief education and support to bereaved children and their families to help alleviate the pain and isolation felt by the loss of a parent, sibling or legal guardian. We create a world where children who are experiencing grief are supported to reach their full potential.

The members of our Grief Care Group act as companions to families in the parish who have experienced the recent death of a family member.  They receive training for this role and provide a gentle supporting presence for people in time of grief.  When possible, a member of the group will participate in the preparation and celebration of a person's funeral and continue contact with a family for as long as the family finds it helpful.

Our Contact for the Grief Support Team is Cecilia Brungs, 0412 284 028
