First Communion

First Holy Communion for your children takes place in Year 3 or after. The involvement of parents in the preparation for First Communion is integral to the whole program and provides parents with an opportunity to refresh and re-commit to their own faith. 

By way of preparation for First Holy Communion, our program includes a parents' reflection evening, three small group sessions with both parents and children, presentation of the children to our parish community at Commitment Masses and a reflection day for the whole group preparing to receive the Sacrament.

This Program is offered to children of Parishioners.

 PROGRAM SESSIONS
Session 1: Week beginning October 20th
Session 2: Week beginning October 27th
Session 3: Week beginning November 3rd
 NB: All sessions will be hosted in parish homes with an online program.
 RETREAT DAY:
Friday, November 7th, 9 am- 2:45pm
 
Your child will need to be dropped off at the HNOM church by 8.45. The day will begin with the celebration of Mass at 9am followed by a day of activities and reflection. Further information will be given prior to the day.
 COMMITMENT MASS
You and your child are invited to attend a commitment Mass at Holy Name of Mary Church on either Saturday October 25th at 6pm or Sunday October 26th 8am,10am or 6pm, or at St Peter Chanel Church on Sunday October 26th at 9am. At these Masses the candidates will be formally introduced to the parish community and enrolled in the program. They will be presented with a Sunday Mass Book which will help them to understand and participate in the Mass.
