St Vincent de Paul
Holy Name of Mary St Vincent de Paul Society
The St Vincent de Paul Society was founded by a 20 year old student named Frederic Ozanam in 1833. It is now an international organisation where like-minded individuals put their faith into action. See www.vinnies.org.au
The St Vincent de Paul Society helps people in need through projects including homeless services, assistance to migrants and refugees, mental health programs, food vans and many more. In Australia, Vinnies has more than 40,000 members and volunteers, who work hard to assist people in need and combat social injustice across Australia.
The Holy Name of Mary St Vincent de Paul Society has been working continuously in Hunters Hill for over 120 years. Our Vinnies volunteers help to deliver much needed services within the local community. The St Vincent de Paul Society holds 2 monetary appeals a year – The Winter Appeal in July and the Christmas Appeal in December. We are grateful for any contributions. Moneys collected from the poor boxes in the church are also passed on to Vinnies.
